So I'm pulling apart the fender liner to replace my air compressor and I notice a plug just hanging out in there not attached to anything. Anyone know what it is?

cruise control work?
did you ever have the cruise recall done?
the brake pressure switch is not plugged in.
Ford unhooked them until they got replacement fused wiring harness to stop the chance of fire.

Cruise control works. Supposedly the car hasn't had the recall done yet. According to Ford anyway.

interesting, because the brake pressure switch is definitely not plugged in...

It's the Cruise Control Shut-off switch.. Cruise will work without it plugged in, just won't turn off when you hit the brake pedal

Thanks for the input guys. I just left it unplugged as I never use cruise anyway. Almost all city driving.

My understanding is that the brake pedal will still kill the cruise. This switch was a backup in case the brake switch failed. It sensed pressure in the line (brake application) and would do the same function as the brake switch.
