So, I went outside today to get in my car and the front end was not slammed? It had been sitting for 14+hours. For a little over a month my front end has been slamming every time when left for a couple of hours.

What else can cause the front end to slam if the bags are still good? About a week or so ago, I did try leaving the car with the air suspension off and it still dropped?

I think this is good news?

I have no check air suspension message.

Depends on the angle the car is sitting at whether its leaning toward the front or back..more or less weight on front end..also weather conditions, if it gets cold while its parked, it also can cause leaks..before I swapped mine out to springs, if I left mine overnight and the temperature dropped dramatically the front end would slam..otherwise it would never leak.

yeah they won't always slam. was it warmer or colder than usual? parked differently? it all makes a difference.

The car was parked on level ground. Same place it had been parked and had slammed before. Before today, it has slammed 100% of the time. It has slammed in any temps including anything between 30-60 degrees. It actually usually slams in 3-4 hours. Today it lasted 14+hours.

It sounds like it's at least worth trying $50 in solenoids to see if that fixes my problem.

Any directions, hints, or tips on replacing the solenoids?

Thanks,
Ken

Man, mine used to do the same thing. One day it would be slammed to the ground and the next day it would stay at normal height for days at a time. Crazy. Anyhoo, front air springs were leaky. Replaced them and all has been well for going on 3 years. I can almost guarantee with 99.9999% certainty that your air springs are leaking. How old are they? How many miles on them?

I'm pretty sure my front struts are not original. Previous owner told me he replaced them. My guess is they are 6-8 years old and have 70k-80k miles on them.

...struts...

:shifty:Really?

McPherson Strut suspension design.

Short/Long Arm (SLA) suspension design.

See the difference????

Now of these two suspension designs, which does the Mark VIII have?

You have one hour to complete the assignment...and you won't be graded on the curve...

Here's a nice informative link:

While you're in there changing the solenoid o-rings, go ahead and change the leaky air shocks.

I believe you're grasping at straws here...
