my fuel gauge isnt working

My fuel gauge isnt working, it shows me empty and if i lift the floater arm inside the tank completly it will only show half tank, and if i turn on the car it stays there even if i let it go.
my car works fine and i've checked all fuses, so i think it might be the sendig unit , is there a way to fix it myself without spending a lot of money?

Your LS has two sending units. It sounds like it's the other one that's failed.

There are two senders---one in each tank. Your problem may well stem from this fact.

wheres the other sendig unit? i tried with the passenger side

There's one sending unit in the main (electric) fuel pump assembly, and the other is in the jet fuel pump assembly.
