My free car and a trip to Connecticut!

What I WANNA KNOW...is how the hell the LS ended up that way...like * W T F * did she DO to it?!!!

Guard Rails and cars don't mix. Yes that is EXACTLY how I got the name. LOL no TDUB is a nickname for my initials, my friends have called me it since late elementary/Jr High .

Ok I just got back from Connecticut with the parts car in one piece. Well, myself, my brother's truck and the trailer are all in one piece and the parts car is in two pieces, but I got it that way! How many of you have a spare in your truck with the rotor, caliper and half of a control arm all attached?!

Tomorrow or later this week I will post about the rest of my trip. For now I need to sleep because I just drove almost 16 hours and I did it straight through. New record!

I am moving both cars to my dad's machine shed tomorrow morning so I can start tearing them apart. For those who already paid for parts I will be sending them out this week!

I am trying to figure out the best way to get that car off of the trailer. I used a come-along to get it on and now I wish they made a go-away to just push that pig off of there. How about if I back up at about 30 and then stand on the brakes?....:steering

....nah, better make it 50 so then I won't have to use the ramps. :runaway:

Park under the big tree next to your shop. Raise the front end of the car up with the come-along attached to a tree branch and then slowly pull the truck and trailer ahead. Voila, it will be off the trailer!:)

If I realized you were coming through on 80/90 I would have met you for a beer at least!

Where in CT were you? I wish I read this earlier, woulda bought u a drink or somethin.

Yeah, that would've turned out great. Every LVC member along the way buys this guy a beer. He would've been LOADED before he picked up that Taurus, that's for sure.

His brother's truck would look just like his LS!

At least the LS wouldn't have looked much different.

LOL. How do I make some of you get this story straight? My brother got me the free car right before I left. I took his truck and rented a trailer to go get the wrecked LS.

Yeah, ha, everyone buyin me drinks along the way. Even if I did have enough time to stop, I had enough trouble keeping that trailer in the lines with out being intoxicated. I did have a drink.... and a half at Randall's house....sorry about the carpet again. Nice guy, let me crash at his place after helping me get the car on the trailer, plus we(Randall, the LS wrecker, and I) all played some rockband and had a drink.

lol, thats awesome. Hell of a road trip!

So I've been busy pulling and shipping parts. I have a few interesting pics and vids about moving that car once I finally got it off the trailer. Then I'll wrap this thread.

Alright time to finish this part of the story.

So I think I pretty much ended where Randall and I get the car loaded on the trailer after 2 hours of work. Then we went in for a drink, to get the title signed over, and play RockBand. Plus, he gave me some goodies to go with the car! He let me crash at his place so I could get some sleep after my long trip. I left his place and got back on the road by 9AM on Sunday and drove straight through until 1:15AM which is when I got home. Here is the breakdown of the trip.

I left 4/10 @ 11:35PM and got back on 4/13 @1:15AM. The total trip was 49 hours 40 minutes long of which 6.5 hours were spent sleeping, 2 hours loading the car, 6 hours at Randall's (chatting, drinks, Rockband, posting on LvC) and the rest was fill-ups. So that means I spent about 35 hours driving in 2 days! I traveled a total of 2220.8 miles and spent $397.07 on 173.107 gallons of gas. My average fuel mileage ended up being 12.83 MPG with the average price of $2.294/gal,premium only. I had my GPS set to avoid tolls on the way there, but in order to save time on the way back I went through the tolls which cost me $45 because I was pulling a 2-axle trailer (rental costs $182). Then my food and beverage costs were $85 bringing my trip total to $750.97.

Not a bad cost for everything! Plus I got a road trip out of it!

Here are more pics.

Signing over the title!
A very very very helpful tool. come-along
The wrecked LS ready to go.
Kept seeing my car behind me and always thought it was someone on my a$$.

The LS owner's video!

He wouldn't give up the crystal champagne glasses with the Lincoln symbol emblem on them, but I tried.

I will be putting the LS owner's video up soon too!
