So i was driving on the highway with the cruise on. I get off the highway and slow down..brakes feel spongy. Hmm, i get to a stop light and they get worse. By the time i get home i have almost NO brakes. I'm using my transmission to slow down and crawl into the driveway. pop the hood and the Master reserviour is empty. It took 3/4 of a quart to fill back up.

Where did it all go? There are no leaks that i can tell of.

My best (guess) would be a leaking brake line. In a post just the other day someone was showing pictures of a new exhaust system I believe, and two people pointed out the extremely poor condition of the rubber brake lines. Maybe jack your car up and clean the exterior of the lines. Then start your car and continuously pump the brakes. Then recheck for leaks. Being that it's a 93, they are probably due for replacement anyway ? I have a 94 and mine are original too. Later on today I'm sure some of the guys who are more technically savvy can assist you more. Remember in the old movies, they cut the brake lines, and the victim drives off a cliff because of no more brakes.

I don't know if they make them for the mark (I'd assume they do)... but... if you need to replace your flex lines, go with braided stainless steel if you can. They will cost a bit more, but the difference in pedel feel is night and day. You'll be impressed!

well, found the leak. Drivers side rear wheel is coated in fluid. I think my banjo bolt decided to get loose on me as the line itself is dry...hmm. I gotta gotta go to class so i'll take a look at it when i get home.

I have steel braided lines. www.classictube.com just called them and told them I have a Mark VIII. they had the lengths on file and made them for me. I'm pretty happy with them.

It was leaking between the banjo bolt and block. Tightened it down and got all the air out of the line. I got ABS to cycle so i hope that may purge more air out of the line as my pedal is soft, then i press down again and its really firm...like it should be.
