my $1200.00 LS8

i got this car for 1200 bucks back in Jan. iv since replaced the secondary chain tensioners, trans filter and solenoid pack. installed both front inner fenders. (were missing). belt tensioner and all idler pulleys, heater control solenoid, alpine 6 disc head unit, so far iv spent around 150 bucks all the part i got from a junk yard. ecept the timing chain tensioners. still need to fix the sun roof and replace the front struts. wow!

Imho; I would have bought 3/4 of that stuff new.. Chances of it failing again are pretty high..

new filter an fluid and it will be long gone by the time it fails again. fix it and flip it!

You can get a bad name, sued, and even find yourself crippled in an alley by doing that.. That's like throwing some sand in the crankcase to get rid of some noise and selling it "like new".. But it won't last for long..

you got me all wrong... my wife drives this every day. i in no way would sell someone a turd. i buy cars that have problems fix them and resell them. there fixed right. junk yards have tons of cars with almost if not new parts that you can get for almost nothing. the solenoid pack i got was out of a remanufactured trans with 15,000 miles on it.. like new.. i picked up a 01 jeep grand cherokee wouldnt start.... broken shift cable.paid 1500 for it. 60 bucks for a NEW! cable sold it for 5000.... not bad...

Thats a good price. I paid $1420 for my 2000 V6 with dead motor. One darn bidder bid me up on ebay coulda got her for 1000.
