Does the key cylinder really have to come out to jump the wires for the HID conversion? If so how hard is it? Thanks.

As I understood, you have to jump the wires at the headlight switch, not that multifuntion switch.

Edit: Nevermind, I was wrong, it's pins 13 + 15, it would be easier to find the wires and jumper then below the steering column. If you do this, get the color codes off the wires and see if you can find them under the dash.

First thing you do is take the neg batt cable off to disable the airbag and turn the key to the "run" position. You then have to take the ignition cylinder out to get the plastic cover off the top side of the steering column. Nothing to it, just drop the bottom cover and look under the the cylinder and you will see a brass looking pin sticking out, just take something like an awl and push up on the pin and it will release the cylinder. Once the cylinder is out you can remove the upper cover and reveal the multifunction switch. It is held on by 2 Torx screws. I jumpered the wires off of the #13&#15 terminals with a crimp-on little plastic jumper. When you re-install the cylinder its kinda tight going through the plastic housing, but you just have to make sure everything is oriented in the right position. When the cylinder is back in just return to the off position and the pin will pop back into place and you're done. I did mine a week or so ago when I put my aftermarket HIDS in. Good Luck
