Not my mark but my 4.6 t-bird, 2 days ago i was doing the speed limit (beleive it or not) and went through a intersection, with no warning signs or anything at the intersection was a huge hump that sent me airborne, my shoulder touched the roof and my knee was above the steering wheel, point is i slammed down and ever since my fuel gauge is way way beyond full and wont move unless car is off and my low fuel light is on and i just lost 60 miles to 2 full tanks, was stumbling yesterday running out then i ran out today what is the deal anything appriciated with gas prices i cant afford 1 mile off a tank verses 60 please anyone

Is there any damage to the under side of the car? Fuel leak maybe? Posably the fuel sender is stuck in the full position.

could have somehow moved the pump... pump may not be able to pick up remaining gas???..

you broke the wire (yellow) that connects the levler float the pump bracket... they get brittle and break. causing your guage to read full because the electrical connection is broken.

Dang! That sucks dude. We have an intersection in my home town just like that. Speed limit is 35, but if you take it that fast you can take one of your nine lives off the list. Its pretty bad. I took it in my 73 once, the hood latched up and the trunk popped open. By back hurt later in the week.

would that also make the low fuel light come on? and lose 60 miles on a tank? would I be able to sotter that wire together or should I replace it?
