mpg problems

im new to the site about three months ago i bought a 2000 Ls v8, i do alot of highway diving i was getting about 24 mpg about a week ago it dropped to 20.9 and has not come back up any suggestions would be helpful, sorry for no pics they'll be comin soon

reset it. go to your message center and press the fuel button and when the info is up hit reset and it'll do it.

has the fuel filter ever been changed, at 70k miles might still was not changed when I changed it my mpg went from 15 to 20-21 (city driving)

well i just reset my mpg's in my message center, if that dosent work ill try the fuel filter, im gonna be driven about 129 hwy miles to and from work this week i should notice a difference if thats all it is

yeah do that. i went to vegas not so long ago and i got like 24 mpg, the mileage hasn't dramatically dropped since but i know i'm no longer get 20+ mpg. it still reads that though, i'm assuming your LS is doing the same thing but with the inverse effect. also, checking your fuel filter is a good bet. as well as your air filter and oil plus oil filter if you haven't had it changed

ya that did it im back to 23 mpg fuel filter is fine, oil filter was changed a month ago thanks for the help
