Is it a consensus that when replacing coils to only use motorcraft? Has anyone used Power Pro or any other coils and have you had any problems with them?:feedback

My car was idling rough and throwing codes for 2 cylinders (1 and 4), so I put in 4 new ignintion coils on the 1-4 side made by Standard. This made the cylinder 1 fire but the others (2 3 and 4) were misfiring. So since I didn't know where to go from there, I took it to the dealer and they said they replaced coils 2, 3, and 4. Afterwards about a month+ later I would notice a hiccup every now and then when stopped at a lighth and right when I press the accelerator from a dead stop. So I took it back and told them to replace the other 4 coils (5-8). Been running fine. Thats just my experience. So I'm running 7 motorcraft coils and 1 standard.

I've had good life (89k) miles out of the originals, so for me, Im only going with what I know when the time comes to replace them. Motorcraft.

so how much did the dealer charge to replace them? My car is in due to oil leaking from the valve cover gasket onto coil #5, the dealer said it would cost $1500.00 to repair.

i had a buddy who did the 'all new' coils job. what i had the dealer do was replace the coil causing the rough idle and hesitation between 40-60. this cost $250, for a 3-4 month fix.
