On my car last night I jump in and start it up and the car starts beeping, without a display on the dash. At first I thought it was the "mystery beep" that some of us have had before so I didn't think much of it. Well, I notice that my air bag light that is chronically on all of the time, is off. I'm assuming this is a warning beep that says the light is burnt out. Am I right on this?

You are right, it is the airbag light failure warning. You should be getting a series of five sets of five beeps each. It is a warning that you have an SRS fault, and that the SRS light is not working. There's no mystery on this one.

this is true it did it on my car like you said 5 beeps 5 times the light was burnt out and my clock spring need to be changed.

Exactly 5 beeps at 5 times. Ok light bulb replacement.

I wish I could find where the SRS fault is though. I've checked all the connections under the driver seat for that broken wire and all is good there, plus the clock spring was supposedly replaced just before I bought the car. All of the steering wheel controls work fine. I believe I get the 3-2 blink from the light. I've exhausted the search engine on where else the fault could be.

Thanks for the response guys!

is there anything in the manual about beeping or do we just figuire this :q:q:q:q out over time lol i never looked before

From the owner's manual...
"Determining if the system is operational
The SRS uses a readiness light in the instrument cluster or a tone to
indicate the condition of the system. Refer to the Airbag readiness
section in the Instrument cluster chapter. Routine maintenance of the
airbag is not required.
Any difficulty with the system is indicated by one or more of the
following:
• The readiness light will either
flash or stay lit
• The readiness light will not
illuminate immediately after
ignition is turned to the RUN position
• A series of five beeps will be heard. The tone pattern will repeat
periodically until the problem and/or light are repaired."

good stuff never looked in it for beeping reasons just never remembered seeing beeping in the index lol

The only beep my car makes is if the turn signals are on for more than few seconds. Sometimes it does it on long off ramps.

not sure if this will help, but i also had that air bag light on for a few years. When it finally burnt out, the beeping started. One day i got under the driver seat and just startted pushing all the connectors together, since none seemed broken.
I thought i hadn't found anything until i turned the car on... beeps were gone. That was about six months ago and the beeps havent returned.

I hadn't posted about it before because i really dont know what I did, if anything. All i know is the beeps are gone.
