Moonroof

I used my sun/moonroof yesterday and when i woke up today to use it on my way to church and a tennis match it would never work. Anyone had an issue before? 04 ls luxury model v6

If its electric check fuse, Moon roof - trunk - spare tire well #16 20A.

Checked fuse its a good fuse

i just had a new moonroof put in under warranty, thing went off track last year, they put it back on but said it would probably happen again. This time it was off both tracks and wouldnt move.

wonder if thats something i can do or if i need to take it to my dealer.

does it open or close with the key in the door, if so then it could be the switch

Don't think it would be a track issue because i noticed today that switch is usually lit up red if im not mistaken and its not anymore....If i can get a switch somewhere i can try that.

hmmm my switch doesn't have lights, but i couldn't tell it was off track at all, it looked normal just wouldn't budge or make any noise

Ya mine feels like it is on track if you can even tell. When i drive dont feel any air or hear anything so i assume that its sealed up. Last time it worked it closed by itself after i had turned the car off and shuts by itself then next morning nada.

so you havent tried to open it by sticking the key in the door and turning it?

yea if its stuk open...put your key in the door and turn to right and hold it....if u want it open then hold the unlock button on your remote key thing.

It sounds like you have an after-market roof. Could you take a picture of the interior with the roof and the switch?

Did the key thing and it didn't work. I will take a picture of the inside when i get home.

yea, my mark had a aftermarket moonroof, when you pressed one of the buttons (the one that said asc) a red light would light up and every time you shut the car off it would close the moonroof

I dont know if you can tell whether its aftermarket or not by looking

After market, no rubber gasket on the roof portion of an OEM, just the glass portion and right on the switch tells you the name of the after market.

Yep, aftermarket. That's not the factory switch, and you're missing the factory sunglasses holder.

What would be the best thing to do? Take it to a dealership or someone to look at it?

Find out who installs/services that brand in your area. I doubt that the Lincoln dealership would know anything about it.

my lincoln wont even work on the factory moonroof they send them all to some nearby shop
