All of a sudden my moon roof has gone goofy. I press vent and the over ride sw lites up, or nothing happens. I press open and it opens, or it closes, or the vent opens. I press close and anything might or might not happen. It's nuts

Anyone mees with these things?

Did you check your motor? There it a drop down panel in the roof over the back seat. You can lower the motor pretty easy, run you switch and see if the motor responds. You can also take a pair of vise grips and turn the roof manualy dont put them to tight and mess up the splines on the gear,

Good place to start maybe it jumped

I don't see anything that looks like a drop down roof, this is a '96.
.
The motor and glass seem to move fine, it's more of a control issue.

Most of the cars I've looked at have a rocker switch to control the panel, but on my car there are four buttons; Close, Open, Vent aned ASC. The ASC button lights up red when it's on and keeps the panel from closing when the car is shut off and the door is opened.

They all worked fine until the other day......................

hmmm I have a 96 LSC with a moon roof I have had alot of issues with mine also. I bet I have had it out 3 maybe 4 times. I had to replace the whole frame. I am wondering if yours in an after market if you dont have the drop down door in the headliner above the rear seats, and 4 swithes

ASC is an aftermarket dealer-installed moon roof. I'd like to see some pictures of the controls if you don't mind.

you probably had a leak and some of the wires are shorting out
possibly just a corroded plug

I'll see about posting a photo.

I pulled the switch unit out and the back of it's all filled in with some epoxy like substance with four wires coming out. I guess there must be a control module somewhere
