Ive been noticing a Mis when i sit at the light and step on her slightly to accel from a stop. If i get on her hard there isnt a mis. I Have Change the plugs and Fuel filter. she only does this after shes been running awhile.

posting the year model of the car will help people diagnose your issue.
sometimes they can go thru your previous posts and find out, but it's easier for people to help you when you give them as much info as possible.

for instance, a miss fire in a first gen 93-96 is not the same problem as a miss fire in a second gen 97-98.

looking thru your previous posts, I see you are looking for a neon ballast.. which means you have a second gen.

I'd suspect the coil boots as the culprit of your missfire, they commonly fail..especially after a plug change.

more chain store sell them, I get them for 4.99 a piece here in houston.
If the chain store tells you that you have to buy a coil to get this part.. leave that store immediately!

Yup shes a 97 and Ill remember too do that next time. also want store did u go to?

Changed boots and she still missing any other suggestions? Im changing the mass air flow now and will update in a min.

My Car Had Miss Like That When I Bought It The Plugs Had Been Changed And They Failed Open The Gap From .045 To Factory Gap Of.054 .cured My Miss

I'm trying to nail down a similar misfire in my 93, although mine doesn't start misfiring until 3rd gear (at low RPM, high engine load.) I just did Autolite 103s at .050 and nothing changed. Next I guess I'll try swapping the coil packs from my parts car..

I still say stock engines should never be gaped lower than factory specs.the coils are designed to work with this much gap any less and they are not working as hard as they should be.I have taken plugs out that have 100,000 or better with gaps as much as .075 and still never missed. My wifes 01 ranger with 125,000 and plugs have never been changed.Unless you are turbo or s/c never run colder plugs.again the factory spends more time on the dyno than anybody, they design the car to get the best emissions ,mpg and driveability you think they might know more about it than aftermarket companys that try to sell you parts.if it came with Motoercraft plugs replace with the same

Fuel pump or filter will cause problems at high RPM when fuel requirement is highest. As for me, I slightly reduced the gap because I might have a weak coil.. As for colder plugs, the reason Ford didn't use them is because of all the old people who never take the motor over 2500 rpm. Old people will foul cold plugs. I will not foul cold plugs. And Autolite makes Motorcraft, FYI.

Autolite is now owned by Signal Fram Company.Ford sold Autolite in the early 70s.Federal govermnt accused Ford of having a monopoly.if your plugs come out with a tan color fine.if they are black, your wasting gas

Okay I changed the Mass air filter and the mis went away Know if she is idle at a light sometimes she acts like wants to die. Heres a list of what Ive changed already. Fuel filter, Plugs, and MAF.

How about wires bad or a coil pack when it gets warm a crack will expand and can arc to ground.

I have a 97 I replace all the Sparkplug boots and springs to. I should have added that to my list. OOOPPPPS!!!!!!!!!:slam :slam

Are there any trouble codes?

Even if the CEL is not lit, plug it in & check anyways. Every so often you'll find something.

Also, have you done a fuel pressure test?

Fuel Pressure is good and Autozone said there arent any codes. I dont have problems acceling just at idle. I wierd becaus it comes and goes. Maybe its my ambient temp senssor.

Many Motorcraft products are manufactured by an outside vendor, the only thing Motorcraft about them is the brand name. Honeywell owns Fram, and Honeywell makes some Motorcraft plugs (including the ones for our cars.)

It's a frickin spark plug. If it has a gap, heat range, and is made out of metal, that's about it.

Can you reset the computer on the Mark with the battery disconnect like some other mid 90's cars? Never tried it on a Lincoln. Just an idea, computer might have lost its perimeters on one of the sensors.

i run n20 but only once in a blue moon of course... im running autolite 103's im pretty sure gapped at .048 ... err .038 i can't remember. but when i had them initially at .038's and put in my chip it would misfire sometimes under heavy load, so i took the chip out and it ran fine. i raised the gap and it was all good.

i also have autolite 764's or whatever they are at .054, this would be factory right? i have also read that going with colder plugs is better because it allows for more timing.

should i just open my gap more if im not going to be juicing? or throw in the 764 plugs? i want to get more optimal NA setup. im picking up some ffrp 9mm wires tomorrow so ill see if i can crank some more spark out if it. i think ill just pull the 103's because ive been spraying 150 wet and havnt had any problems, even with my chip.... it pulls real hard, i dont want to ginx it and ive gone throw 5 bottles already. but the juice calls for a smaller gap and colder plugs not so much suited for the normal NA setup.

That's exactly what I went through, it's a pain to narrow it down, I ended up spending a few hundred dollars fixing stuff that wasn't broken before I found that it was a coil pack, mine on Cyl 7 was cracked.
