Miss this place :( New Ride, Pics inside 325 AWHP

What kind of boost can those engines handle? The K04 can push some crazy numbers cant it?

A factory K04 can push about 20-21PSI which is what I run, stock is 15.6PSI. A ported K04 can do around 24+PSI, which is what I may do to fly under the warranty radar.

People with PROPERLY tuned motors are seeing 24-26PSI on the stock bottom end. There is a race version of the MZR motor pushing 1400HP and at one time held or may still the record 1/4 mile for 4 cylinder drag racing breaking into the 7 second barrier.

how much torque are are you seeing? Also how much room does the rear seat passengers have? Does the car "feel" at least as big as the LS.

I can vouch that they or at least the first Gen's aren't as roomy at all. We had a rental Mazda 6 before we got the LS and it was cramped for our liking regardless of how roomy Mazda claimed them to be but I cant say for the newer models. They do look like they got bigger.

338 ft/lbs of torque at 3500 RPM's

I have to admit, even with this car looking smaller from the outside, the interior is just as big to me as the LS was. I can get my little boy in and out of his car seat in the back just as easy as I could have in the LS.

Are you running meth at 21psi? That seems like a lot for a stock block.

No meth, just a upgraded Direct Injection fuel pump and a lot of other mods and good tuning. There is a Speed6 guy running 386 AWHP with a larger turbo on the stock block.

Mazda makes some strong motors. Even some of the rotary class motors are stronger than people like to credit.

Mazda's are overall good cars, I went from a Millenia NON Supercharged, to a LS. I rode my Millenia to 130,xxx and never had problems, except sunroof, and power tilt steering wheel.

Yeah, whoosh's car, I saw that. Very impressive for a stock block. It does seem like a matter of when, not if, the stock block is going to take a dump though.

I'm no expert and I haven't seen a mod list on his car but from what I was told he's pushing 20psi out of a GT35 and only getting 386 whp. Shouldnt that be making much more horse on that turbo at that psi? I dont belong to any Mazda forums so I never cared enough to ask by signing up.

I heard about that other guy with the front mount and top mount who supposedly bs'd his numbers.

thats funny i went from a 2001 millenia S 2.3L supercharged.... what a slow car LOL!

personally i don't like the way these cars look but i know they are hella fun to drive and it's what inside that counts if you are a performance enthusiast. yes, you might have lost a bit of perceived street cred by going lincoln to mazda, but we all have to part with our LS's sooner or later :D have fun with it! i think my next ride will be the Honda S3000 or an all-electric sports coupe, there will be a few options by that time.

I know its not up to Lincoln status, but with a cheaper car payment and way more power I couldnt pass. At 32 years old, I couldnt get a STI or EVO with 2 kids, hehe. Its nice to run a 12.9 sec 1/4 and still get 30MPG on the highway :) A couple updated pics after Eibach lowering springs, new front grill, bigger 3.5" thick intercooler, CAI, downpipe, no cats, COBB Stage 2 custom tuned, new blow off valve, 3" turbo inlet tube, stage 2 kevlar clutch, DISI high pressure fuel pump upgrade.

Looks pretty damn good I must say. What other big plans do you have for it. I KNOW wheels on the list, you have a fetish.

Thanks KD00LS! I plan on some nice 19's with tints in the summer for the Exterior.

Im planning on getting my stock K04 turbo ported for more power and a methanol injection system. I have to fly a bit under the warranty radar for a while otherwise I would go crazy with this car.

Would you see any benefit to getting a FMIC over the TMIC?

A FMIC would be better but TONS of work to get it off and switch to stock when it has to go in for service. This ETS TMIC only loses 1.5PSI and is EXTREMELY efficient with cooling. The stock TMIC lost 4-5PSI, VERY inefficient. So Im in the middle between a stock TMIC and aftermarket FMIC.

i am sure that its quick as all hell. my 2001 audi s4 launches like a rocket with the all wheel drive. makes similar power
