MIL Eliminators?

I've used the search function and can't seem to come up with anything...

If the attempt to repair my '93 falls through and I do end up buying this '97 I want to open it up first thing I do...

Dual X's and tru-dual catback, and magnaflows like I wanted to do to my '93 :(

So my question is... will MIL eliminators from a Mustang work on these cars?

They have 4 catylitic converters right? and 4 O2 sensors?

I plan to remove 2 of the last cats, use MIL's to fool the ECU, cut off all resonators and then do the XX's, catback, and magnaflows. Just slightly louder than it would be with 4 cats....

Might hollow the first two out too...
 
Nope... 3 cats, 4 O2 sensors.

On each bank one O2 sensor is pre-cat converter, the other is post cat.

The 3rd cat isn't monitored by anything.
 
All mark 8's have only 3 cats. The 93 to 95's which are obdI have 2 O2 sensors in front of the first 2 converters, 1 on each side. The 96-98's which are obdII have 4 O2 sensors. 2 in front of the first 2 converters, 1 each side and 2 behind the first 2 converters 1 each side. The third converter is not monitored, as it is an NOx trap. The 2 aft sensors simply monitor the cats. There is no reason to remove them or the cats. REmember, these are emission control devices which are illegal to remove. Federal law provides up to 20 years in prison for each component that is defeated. This includes hollowing them out. NOt to mention, that you will get worse performance. Modern cars are designed to make best power with the converters. Go to Kenne Bells website, and see how much power they made on a 03 cobra with the stock manifolds and converter H-pipe.
 
Where I live.. it is not illegal to remove any and all cat's from a vehicle. My '93 was straight-piped.

And of course throwing an upgraded blower on a car will obviously make good power since those cars were wild as it was.

And my previous post, I had a brain fart.. of course the O2's are in front of the cats... thats why I can get away with doing an offroad H-pipe on my black GT...

Next question is... are the exhaust manifolds the same? with the cat made to one side and not the other?
 
IF your talking about markviii manifolds, then yes. All 93-98 markviii manifolds are the same. Integral cat-manifold on the left and Non-integral manifold on the right.
 
That is what I was fearing... Which I mean, that doesnt bother me much, I've worked around that before. If needed I could do it again. I guess if I get one or the other 97's I could throw in MIL's and go at it like I did my old car...
 
The MIL elims go on the set of O2s AFTER the cat converter... didn't see if anyone clarified that yet. The pre-cat O2s monitor the AF ratio, the post-cat O2s only monitor whether or not the cat is working properly.

pre-96 models don't have to worry about MILs due to having no cats.

If you live in the US, then you are breaking the federal anti tampering law.
local, state and county laws do now eliminate federal laws.

just because a local shop put an inspection sticker on your 93 does not mean your modifications didn't violate the federal emissions law.

True, this is why it would be very rare for any automotive repair facility to remove catalytic converters. They place themselves in grave danger by doing so.
 
That is why I do it myself. I can cut and weld, lol

They can't see what they can't get under :D
