then after 20 miles of driving at 0 miles to empty they say 40miles to empty.... tricky buggers.

Huh, when mine says 0 it means 0. Maybe have 2-3 miles left. When it tells me it has 50 miles left it takes a hair over 15 gallons to fill so I would say its pretty balls on. :)

I've let mine get down to 0 a few times. Only once did I run out of fuel after leaving it for two days and running out 2 blocks from the station when I did finally go, lol...

There was a guy back way back in da day that had some custom saying on his display. Be sweet to word .... Miles to empty in a different way

lol, first time i realized 0 means zero in my mark viii...i was cruising 70mph going up hill on the 401 and the car started to bog out...needless to say i got off the next exit and put some gas in...ironically the gas station is right across from my house

but ive noticed sometimes...it will get to the single digits 7-6-5 miles left..and depending on where the actually gas guage is...if its about an 1/8th of a tank it will jump back up to 40...but only sometimes...it depends on if i do a lot of highway or short trips since last fill and reset...it seems to correct itself more on short trips towards the end of the tank

I think alot of it has to do with your average miles\gal. I havnt reset my MPG on the message board for probably 3k miles, so it pretty much stays where its at now.

IIRC the mileage to empty is based on your MPG over the last 500 miles of driving, whether or not you've reset your MPG since then.
