Geez, car wouldn't turn over and I had it towed to a garage. 714.00 for a new fuel pump and module or some crap. Does this price sound right? Sounds like a lot for a fuel pump assembly. I think I should get a second opinion.

it is not so much the price of the pump as the labor. going off my dealer service pricing, that is just about right

im not an expert on the LS, but why would the car not turning over be the result of a bad fuel pump?

the pump assembly is $250 by itself - not sure what module they would replace - the FPDM (fuel pump driver module) is built into the REM (rear electronics Module) on the LS (very unique for Ford).

Me either Eric, and it really bothers me in situations like this where I have to take someone elses word on it. I just gave up and told them to fix it. I have to have the car. With all the money I have pumped into this thing I could have had it gold plated.

It does sound right to me. About 10 months ago I bought gas from a station that was contaminated with diesel fuel. Apparently the guy filling the tanks hooked up the diesel line to the regular fuel line. Pulled out of the station and the car died right there. The entire fuel system needed to the cleaned out and the fuel pump replaced.

The total repair for mitsubishi galant fuel pump was just under 700 dollars. Their insurance paid for it as the clerk knew the gas was contaminated and continued to sell it.

Like the previous posts, its in the labor that the cost goes up. They need to empty the gas tank, go into and replace the pump etc. Its a sh*ty repair job because of cost but on the plus side, you will hopefully notice a difference in the performance of your car. I saw a great improvement with the galant.
