So, last week I had my car in the shop for a new rack and pinion and some control arm bushings. Got it back and the steering is working great, no squeak at all. But I still get a pronounced *pop* out of the passenger side front when making a left turn. Not every time but most of the time when pulling into a parking spot or making a left at a light. It does happen every time I pull into work (kind of an S-turn into the parking lot (right then left)). Took the car to the mechanic (dealer) this morning for the repairs (still under waranty). They just called me to say the could not duplicate the problem. They drove it around trying to hear the problem but could not duplicate it. I'll be going down there tomorrow to give the tech a ride so maybe he can hear it. I know I'm not crazy, this has been happening for a couple of months now. It did get a little better when they took things apart and fixed the steering but it is still not gone.

If anyone has any experience in this matter please fill me in. I could really use the help, my warranty is going to expire in a couple of months (2100 miles) and I'd like the LS to be perfect when it does.

Thanks for any input,

Don't they always say that? I had a similar problem right before my warranty went out. Now I don't remember what it was, but they never can "duplicate the problem". I mean I was at almost the same milage as you. For me, it seems like either the weather or temperature had something to do with it. But, I was just getting to work one morning and turning into the garage. Boom, there it was, so I called in late drove to the dealership and made them come out right then and there. It was about this time of year when the weather was changing so it was a bit cooler and damp outside when I heard the noise. So listen out for the noise and maybe even keep a camera with you. One other thing that I regret that my buddy who works at a shop told me after the fact. Before your warranty goes out, try to have as many things as you can replaced and fixed. It may cost you a little for a check-up but it'll be worth it in the long run. They're common problems circulating on this site such as vc gaskets, ignition coils. Those jokers only replaced one under warrenty knowing two others were going bad. My tranny went out a few weeks after the warranty ran out. So, please give you car a complete overage before the warranty expires. One last thing, a second opinion never hurts. I also paid to have another dealership diagnoise a problem that my dealership "could not duplicate". They ended up fixing the problem under warranty and repaying for the money I spent to have a second opinion. Actually, it's not a bad practice to get diagnoised at one placed and repaired under warranty elsewhere.
