Mclaren grille Replica

Looks about right. Well you'll need either a gen2 2 piece grille or you'll need to fab p your own. Then you can just epoxy it on to the grille surround. Or if you want to make it all one piece, you can try mkaing a mold from a grille with the maclaren and then cast it. It might be a little tricky but I'm sure it can be done, not cheap either though.

IIRC A member made a lower grille insert to match his McLaren grille using the same stuff. It looked good.

I think the upper grill will be hard to make. It has compound curves (curves top to bottom and side to side) that would be hard to achieve without an english wheel. But i'm sure it can be done.

You might have more flexible options with this. At least I think this stuff is usable.

McMaster-Carr Perforated Sheets

Multiple material types, hole sizes, thickness, and patterns. They also have sheets of the wire mesh if you wanted to do that too. Don't know how well it would work but it's an option.

Yeah, McMaster Carr has a lot of options, buy stuff from them all the time for work projects. There's also McNichols but I don't think they sell partial sheet sizes like McMaster Carr.

9/16"?!? Wow didn't know the holes were that big. Yah 1/8" is way too small then.

They are not 9/16"! Obviously from someone who has not seen a McLaren Grill. I measured the holes on mine and they are slightly over 5/16". Turned the ruler over and it looks like 8mm is very close.

Good luck with the project. It would be great if someone could come up with an alternative since the McLaren Grill's are not available anymore.

Just a thought here, you might want to try using that Aluminum HEX Perf. It might be easier to work with and it would look unique.

As you can see by my signature I do have an McLaren Grille, and I measured with an ID(inside diameter)caliper.
