I had the first one replaced under warranty, it is the passenger side vent for a 2003 LS, does anybody know of ways to prevent this?

Its sun-rot because its cheap plastic, no way to really prevent it but I do put protectant on it more often. I just replaced mine about 4 months ago. Real cool, huh?

What the hell did you do? You obviously went to town on that damned vent! Do you have kids kicking it or something? Just moving that gear won't do that

I can't say I've even fooled around with a vent in my car more than say 7 times...

Mine did this to but on the driver side. I believe mine cracked from the heat and sun possibly? The dealer wanted 50 bucks for a new one. I still haven't gone to pick the part up

i dont have kids, and if she says its mine she a damn lie, lol, i have never touched it,

Quit making kids in your car?? lol Looks like a stiletto coulda been the culprit haha:D

bwahhahahhaha Why yes I did young sir.. lol I actually stayed to watch the live performance via your rear windshield lol

Theres another LS on here from Paris I hope he reads this cause then we wont be the only 2 people knowing what the fuk were talking about lol

did you see me in the Kickers parking lot! LOL

Everybody saw it because you dont have any tint on your windows, thats why your vents keep cracking. Tint will preserve the interior of your car. I had my car tinted the day I got it and havent had any problems with a vent cracking and mine is a 2000 model

I do have tint, missin just enjoys see me work, LOL

sun could be coming through the moonroof if you leave that open or uncovered. only way my car heats up even with the 20% tint :P

Get a bigger drop on your windshield tint strip..looks like factory drop or at least factory height..that should help

I was thinking of tinting the whole windshield.

I just got my car tinted and wanted them to do that, but they were gunna charge me $130 JUST for the windshield, then pay the original car price for the rest of windows. Also he wanted cash under the table for the windshield because it is illegal.

I only wanted like 35 or 40% on the windshield and he turned me away from it. I think this is better anyways for the city I live in; the guy who did mine said cops here will pull you over just for the windshield even if you haven't done anything wrong in the process.

So I would say ask around and see what people have experienced with local enforcement and ticketing for windshield tint before doing it.

It's not worth it if it cost $130 to put it on, then a $150 ticket to take it off.

I have kentucky plates, and I live in Colorado, I always heard PIGS "can't do anything to you if you have out of state plates", but thats just what i heard.

Ah yea that may work to your advantage. Because if you're pulled over you can just say "well in my state..."

Sounds like you are in a positive loophole
