We noted here and elsewhere the astonishing degree of fraud that has fueled Barack Obama's record fundraising. The ultimate instance of Obama-fraud was achieved by a reader of The Corner:

So I went to the Obama website this afternoon and clicked on the "Donate" button.

I used my real MasterCard number (but was not asked for the 3 digit security code).

Used the following information and it was accepted...

First name: Fake
Last Name: Donor
Address: 1 Dollar To Prove A Point
City: Fraudulent
State: AL
Zip / Post: 33333
Email Address: allmyinfoismadeup@mediabias.com
Phone Number: 2125551212
Employer: Mainstream Media
Occupation: Being in the Tank

And incredibly, my $5 donation was ACCEPTED!!!

I then went to the McCain site and used the exact same information (and WAS asked for the 3 digit security code for my MasterCard). There, my contribution was rejected with the following message: "Your transaction was not approved for the following reason(s): Invalid data", and then: "We have found errors in the information that you have submitted. Please review the information below and try again."

I have screen shots and printouts of all of this as well.

Please tell me what I can do with this information? Is this a violation of FEC law by the Obama Campaign? How do we publicize this???

Everyone knows that Barack Obama has created the biggest money-machine of any politician in American history. But it is becoming increasingly evident that Obama's money-machine is largely fraudulent and therefore criminal. One can imagine a world in which newspaper reporters think it's a serious matter when a Presidential candidate tries to buy an election with illegal and fraudulent contributions. My advice would be, if you think a fraud has been committed, don't talk about it, do something about it.
Call the FEC imediately, and give them the information you have posted here.
If they aren't in the tank for O bama, as many are, you may get some results.

I've been reading about this too and it bothers me a great deal, a whole lot more than the bogus "muslim" and "pals around with terrorists" crap. I'm reading conflicting reports about how these things are being refunded after the fact, but I don't understand why they're being accepted up front when someone puts in false info. I thought that was the credit card companies' responsibility to prevent that. In any case, if it turns out that security was deliberately turned "down", then this could indeed be very damaging to Obama, ESPECIALLY if it is revealed after he wins the election. The last fcuking thing we need is yet another president dogged by questions of his legitimacy.

In short, if this is accurate, and bogus contributions are not being refunded or rejected in a timely manner, I will not defend the Obama campaign on this issue. This is inexcusable and I hope and pray the FEC looks into it immediately.

Our election system needs a compete overhaul. It has become out of control and too open to corruption.

Drat - now I will be on some stupid list for years - well, at least it won't come to my address, but to the one I made up, but I did have to give them my email address so I could get my confirmation...

Or maybe it is some evil plot on both sides to get more money from the opposing side... from people like me who are testing this theory... hummmm.

Well, my contribution will end up costing them more than it is worth, once the mailings start to add up...

Once again I probably leaped before I looked - I often do that... But, I just get so angry with everyone pointing fingers at the left, when the right so often does the same thing.

It isn't squeeky clean anywhere. I did this showing someone here at work, because at lunch I got to listen to the same story again, about how terrible the Obama people are, and just look at all this fraud.

So, after lunch we sat down at my computer and wow - it is scary - it is sooo easy. I would have thought they had more checks and balances.

Maybe I should retire my credit cards and use pay pal.

But, my advice person said not to worry - and he gives great advice...

It was more of an experiment, than a smear tactic - I really didn't think it would go through. And I haven't contacted the FEC - I think that they probably have enough on their hands right now...

Did the GOP sight not ask you for the security code on the credit card?
Those websites aren't set up to confirm your name/address, usually they just ask for the security code to at least confirm that you're holding the card and not simply stealing receipts out the back of a restaurant.
