Mark VIIIs in Chicago Area

Wow, I am amazed, there are 8 Mark VIII's for sale on Craigslist in the Chicago area. A couple are $1000 or less fixer uppers and a couple are pristine. It's a buyers market for them here. All of them are Gen I except 1 at a dealer.

Yea i bought mine on cl, a 97 toreador lsc in pretty good shape minus simple stuff and radius arm bushings, blend door. Was listed for 1 day when i spotted it, made a appt. to see it the next day and bought it. It was the identical one that i wanted.All power options, color but with 120k. But it only cost me $3000 and $35 /month for insurenace. Its was cheap enough to the point were i could still keep my other car in wich i love. That really sealed the deal.

I'm still waiting for a nice/mint cheap one to roll around with the common problems. I could always use a 3rd car......naaaa

Im still deciding if I want to get a 97/98 to turn into a restoration project and swap my new drive train into. I am always looking for the perfect deal and the longer I wait the better the deals!

just letting you guys know, that most of those 1000 dollar cars are from the auction in harvey, il. They rip people off all the time and the bbb and state are investigating them for fraud and deception. Be careful:shifty:

I don't think the ones on craigslist right now are from the place in Harvey. The place in Harvey has a bunch listed on cars.com.

You are right about them being investigated a lot! When I was looking for a 2nd Mark, I saw a bunch of their stuff on cars.com. I Googled them, and found all sorts of nasty reports on their business practices. Needless to say, I stayed FAR away!
