"Mark of the Devil" project pics.. finally

i guess the mother of these 2 black marks actually had triplets.
you would not believe how almost identical mine looks to ponies and devilchild's (after he lowers it lol) mine is low on springs with the speedstars from brad, black on black, etc. plan on cobra r hood in the future.
i'll post pics as soon as i figure out how! unbelieveable
nice car devilchild !!!

just added a few pics to the gallery, will add better ones after i scale down the file size.
btw,not hijacking the thread on a very nice car, just showing the similarities!

haha.. Triplets.. go figure..

do you or Poniesviii ever have problems with rubbing with your wheels??

i've had it for a week, driven every day,and the only thing that has rubbed is the front air dam because it's loose and hangs down in front(soon to be fixed).
no rubbing of the wheel/tires at all!
btw, what's the story behind the pristine rear window moulding on your car? beautiful !

my rear wheels rub when i go over a bump or dip... mine isnt even lowered yet.. all i did was turn the car off.. let it sit so it would settle ..then turned off the airride.. and it rubs mainly on the driver side

and the gasket.. me and ONEBADMK8 were discussing how great the condition of it was .. and he said i should take some pics and post them

So the Wheel rubs or the TIRE rubs??

I am going to guess it is the tire?? Have not had any reports of the actual wheel hitting anything. If you run a tire size other than a 245-45-18 I can't gaurentee that you won't exp. rubbing and end up having to deal with that via a switch or rolling the fenders.

Poniesviii (Chris) is running a 275MM rear that runs wider than most or all others in that size and had to do a few mods for clearance but he is VERY low as well.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance at all. The cars look GREAT guys!!

Cheers,

Brad

Cars looking good. I personally would skip the hood and wing but thats me.

Your not going to be able to slam it all the way down with Rays switch until you clear the wheel rubbing. Roll the rear wells, took some balls to take the body dowel to the car but did the trick on mine.

Brad

I still don't rub when vented. (parked anyways) But I drive with tires literally tucked. It took rolling, modifying the bumper cover, and fixing my rear camber, but I can fly at top speed down the highway with bumps in the road and I'm still not losing paint or rubbing anywhere at all.

My '93 viii was a prior salvage, that wasn't listed on the title. I had problems on passenger instead of driver, but my IRS was literally an inch further to the pass side because of 'some' accident, obviously.

O_O thats a good lookin ride! I wish I could come up with some extra cash to get th ray switch or somehting so i can roll that low.....Great lookin car!

just take all of the suspension components off,sit the body/frame on the ground and tuck the wheels underneath. you'll ALMOST be as low as poniesviii ! lol sweet, sweet rides in this post.

ponies,what color is your interior?

devilchild,do you still have the black lsc side trim for sale?

i dropped mine that low once and started to drive it...got about 100 feet and tuned around and lifted it up...i didnt wanna buy new bagz...lol i have a few pics of it that low on my profile thingy...and devilchild awesome lookin mark!

aww crap!! it didnt work i have a sharing folder with my future father in law and i tried to but the pic i have from there on here..it was before i had alot done to my car...ill try again

i guess im going to have to roll the fenders.. i like it SUPER LOW...

my old 93 would sit 3/4" off the ground..(pics in my gallery).. but it was a lot easier because those wheels were 18x7.5 ..

how much does rolling the fenders generally cost??..plus.. it doesnt affect the paint at all right??

ponies,what color is your interior?

graphite grey, but going to white and black over the winter.

side note .. I have a mint grey interior for sale/trade(for a couple white components I still need)

devil child, I used three different hammers to roll mine, not the tool. I couldn't find a tool and wanted to repaint my quarters again anyways. If you use a hammer, you'll need a repaint. The paint cracks where the lip bends. I'm actually happy I did it the way I did, anyone who tucks their fingers into the rear lips thinks the car came that way.. nice and smooth.

Also anyone who wants to ride super low, tire height and adjusting the sensors a few times to compensate for fr/rear weight ratio will make a big difference in ride quality. At first I thought there was no way anyone could have a good ride this low on factory suspension, and people bitch about how crappy of a ride it is. But after tweaking it, it rides just as smooth as a full suspension car unless you have a leak and continuously hit bumps on a crappy road. I got a leak fixed so the car keeps the exact settings and it rides super smooth for how low it is. No bouncy bs at all. I also have bigger swaybars with modified swaybar kit and ground down urethane bushings. Car corners like it's on rails, and with the big tires it doesn't let go. Your mark has alot more potential than you think.

graphite??.. if so ill take the visors.. someone put a burn hole in one of mine.. BASTARDS!!!

and thanx for the advice... i just took it to my body guy today to get a quote on the fenders... he said they might be able to do them without chipping the paint.. im trying not to repaint til next year.. thats when im gonna add a little metallic or pearl to the black.. havent decided yet

Actually the corner of my passenger side main visor has loose fabric, when they sewed it from the factory they didn't overlap the seam enough.

I had to roll mine until the lap was layed flat against the inside of the quarter in order to get enough clearance.. so not just a little, so.. not sure if you'll get by without cracked paint anyways. Could try though! Maybe if you went with a 265mm or 255mm rear tire you could get by not rolling it so much in order to get as low as you'd like.

Black really looks better without metallic or pearl in it, our lincoln black is actually the blackest black of blacks. Looks good just wetsanded and buffed.

..gives a good mirror image.

..Naturally metallic lightens any color it goes in, same with pearl.

I wanted pearl on my car, I went with purple ghost flames, with pearl added.
