Well, tomorrow I'm ordering the timing chains, tensioners, followers, Valve cover gaskets, coils, all front gaskets and seals and anything else I can think of. I'm not going to risk it at all. Plus, even if it isn't the tensioner, I'll feel better knowing it's changed. Also, I will learn more on these cars and with a 146K it won't hurt.
See, I'm getting a really nasty "slapping/rattling" sound coming from the passenger side head right where the chains are. That's why I asked you if you had a rattling sound on your car. I subscribed to the Alldatadiy.com website to get familiar with the procedure. It looks time consuming, but better than doing a Taurus SHO.:yuck: Thanks for asking!
The only thing that sucks is I will have to drive my gas guzzling 89 GT 331 mustang everday. I hate firing that thing up at 5:15 in the A.M. because I don't want to piss my neighbors off.

well if you have been driving your LS i wouldn't worry about fixing it, but if not do it up man!!! i know it is a hell-of-a job!! so good luck and if you need any help, look me up ill see what i can do!
