It's already been in a few times to replace the coils now today I'm driving & the fan starts going really hard & then all of a sudden the engine temp gauge goes up & the car says check engine temp. After a few minutes everything just snaps back to normal like nothing was wrong then 5 minutes later as I'm pulling home it does it again! I pull in the garage & pop the hood & I can see coolant fluid on some of the engine areas & after taking a closer look there seems to be a small pinhole in the little upper elbow hose so early tomorrow it's BACK TO LINCOLN!

On a positive note I'm SO GLAD they moved around the corner from me so I don't have to drive across town anymore...:D

my car has the same issue with over heating. The fan starting going its kind of loud and the gauge starts to climb. When I turn the car off and turn it back on everything works fine again. Let me know what they tell you the problem is. Thanks

Well I can see a hole in the hose without them telling me so I'm sure that's one of the problems.

Sorry to hear, and I can relate. Mine started smoking on the way to work this AM. Pulled over and raised the hood to find coolant all over everything. The little piece that sticks up off the upper hose assembly broke off back when I had a coil changed, and the shop could not find that hose anywhere so they did a plastic weld on it and it broke today. It's got another coil is going bad too. All good though, I think once these problems are solved it'll be good for a while. I'm very easy on vehicles and pretty good abot keeping the routine maintenance up.

Well, the fan become loud is just the fan doing it's job. The temp climbs, so the fan kicks on full blast to try to cool it down.

The thermostats in these cars are not the greatest. I've replaced mine twice in 3 years. Not a bad job. Although I hate the bleeding process.

My advice is get the hose fixed, then MAKE SURE TO PROPERLY BLEED THE SYSTEM to get any air out. Otherwise you will eventually get an overheat situation again.

Just got back from Lincoln & this is what they found:

Leak at heater control valve
Thermostat stuck
Thermostat housing & bypass tube melted

Got it all fixed, but that's what it was.
