Making a lower Mclaren grill-

I understand the plastic can be bought from here:

which size do I need? (I'm guessing 1/2" holes)

Has anyone ordered from them before?

You'll need the 3/8" holes to match the upper McLaren grille holes. If you buy a sheet from them it won't be cheap. However, it is very thick stuff and holds up very well.

Check out ebay I just bought a sheet of powder coated perforated aluminum. I believe the seller was grilleguy or something like that.

Thanks guys. I've seen the ebay sheets, but I would really like it to match the grill I have on the way. I will probably wait until I know I will like the grill before moving on the lower grill.

When you get the upper grille just measure the hole diameter but I believe it is the 3/8" size.

Well the pattern of the sheet I ordered does match my Mclaren grill.

5.7 I'm not sure how large the sheet actually is but if you have enough left over for a standard LS bottom opening, and want to sell it, let me know.

My design plans will leave some left over but depending on how you plan on making yours . . . I will let you know how much I got left.
Are you planning on doing an overlay?
My plan is to remove the bars in place now and fab up some mounting tabs out of angle-iron. This I hope will also allow me to reccess the grill approx. 1.5 inches giving me a sportier finish and still hide where I cut and removed the bars.

That's a great price for that item. Looks cool! I don't know if the 38" length will be long enough for the regular LS front air dam. It would fit the LSE though.

Fits just right from fog to fog for the non-LSE. There will be a small gap but I'm not making it flush with the rear of the bumper openning, I'm reccessing it. There should be about a 1/4 gap each side, if that. It would fit the LSE mint if you cut it right.
I couldn't pass it up for the price and they'll powder coat for only 10 bucks. Not a bad deal, powder coat will hold up to rocks, salt and sand better then paint.
