Has anyone fabircated a cold air intake for the Lincoln LS V6? It appears I could get the tubing and sensor mounts at auto zone and attach a high performance air filter and be all set. Would I need to restart the computer if I get this all together?

here ya go

yeah its the stuff you put on like hot water lines that goes around the top of the alluminum box to help seel it against the hood, it actually works, the filter has about a 10 degree difference from the rest of the intake.

sweet. id like to see someone mod a heatshield with some sort of
an active cooling fan.

yeah i dont know about that, maybe like a ram air with a high speed fan at the entrence of the tube to "force" air up to the intake. it'd be like an almost turbo, but its like drinking a neer-beer it'll get you no where unless your a queer-o-sexual in a gay bar.

I have pics on my laptop will post later. I am using a KKM kit with my homemade heat shield.

I used a roof vent flashing made of plastic that I found at Home Depot. The weatherstripping, I got at Pep Boys. It will come in a roll of 25ft. You will have to trim the flashing to fit. Take your time.
