MAF cleaning

Just read another thread where someone recomended using maf cleaner spray. Is that really safe? I've got 150k miles and figure it could probably use a cleaning but thats one part i dont feel comfortable hosing down.

MAF cleaner is better than Brake cleaner. But if it ain't broke... why fix it?

Of course, with MAF units it's hard to tell if it needs cleaning. But if it looks really dirty... give it a shot. Worst you could do is break it. You may have to replace the current one in the future anyway. Be proactive and do it sooner... if you break it. :lol:

No brake cleaner eh? Boy, you stopped me just in time! Was either gonna use brake cleaner, palmolive or oxyclean. Well i guess maf cleaner it is.

Doing alot of hanging out in the cold naked are ya? That is a genius move.... Brake Cleaner. I have a can of throttle bottle cleaner, but i did the smart thing and actually read it and surprise is states NOT to use on maf sensor. I recently looked at my maf and it has some tiny little parts and looked alittle dirty. No beetle's or mud or anything.

Since they make something specifically for the MAF, that is what I would use..

LOL...the LS isnt a carbed 70's car that wont start.

any little thing you do wrong with modern cars is money. an old chevy 350 can be hit and beat to hell and it still works.

Do they actually sell something called MAF cleaner? I use electronic contact cleaner from Radio Shack - used to clean electronic circuits, etc. Dries up clean on it's own.

I've used the CRC product as well.
