the cd changer in my 04 LS is :q:q:q:qty, based on what i have read up on the forum, but now everytime i unlock the doors and get in the car it sounds lik the cd player is changing discs
.. its wierd because when i press eject it says no disc but wen its doin its little noise an i press load it says initializing. and any other time i try to load a cd it just reads out the cd error message. so what im gettin at is.. im tryin to see if any one else has heard this noise coming from the cd changer an had the initializing message appear an if there is still hope for my cd changer..

kick that turd to the curb.

the only reason ford ever built an indash 6 disc changer, was to make sure it would never go out of buisness. since ford wont repair them, your stuck paying $1000 for a new one, or go aftermarket and be happy with the money saved.

Here's one way.

I believe that the FRD03-POD/S is the one you would need.
It gives you direct audio inputs from the Ipod so that the sound is very good. You can control the Ipod and see what is playing from the factory radio buttons and display, but it is something of a pain.

Dude, you can find adapters just like that one WAAAAY cheaper than that. I bought mine for $60.00, same brand.
