I finally decided to join after lurkering around for a while.

I currently own a 05 CTS-V and some the contraptions.

I thinking about adding a LS to the fleet.

Anyway, hi and here is my site StrikeZero Garage. Yea, I haven't updated it in almost two years, but it has links to all the junk in my fleet and the hilarity that goes on here!!

Welcome to LVC!!!

I think there is a thread going on the Cadillac side of the forum to post pics of your CTS. We all love pics!

Yes please do post some pictures, I started a CTS and CTS-V pic thread and so far there's my CTS pics and someone else second gen CTS-V pics.

Looked at your website, just curious do you deal with a lot of high mileage cars, because I've been looking at getting a 2002-2005 Cadillac Deville, all the ones that have a nice amount of miles are way too over priced, I stumbled across a 2005 Deville with about 185k, they only want $1,800 for it, and they claim it runs and drives. The place selling it is recommended by both carfax and auto trader.com, the car looks extremely clean for the mileage and the body is almost mint. they are selling it with a warranty and a buy back guarantee, and the history report is very clean, it was also a Fleet car. I normally don't look at anything past 150K, but when I saw the year, condition, history report, and warranty, I really started thinking about it.

My CTS-V is the lowest mileage car I have. Everything is 150k +. Everything has its quirks. Find the quirk and work it as soon as you can. Example is my BMWs. The coolant system was the first thing replaced when I bought them since they have a ton of plastic components in the system.

Find the quirks, price them out and decide if it worth it.

My CTS has about 200K miles on it, and runs beautifully, the theft system is a little messed up and causes starting problems now and then, but other than that it's pretty good. I've never had to replace anything major, and in the past 4 years I've only replaced the computer module.

You may need to take it to the dealership and have them hook it to the Tech II. They shouldn't charge anymore than an hour of labor.

The V has few bits:
- LS7 Clutch and Flywheel
- New front shocks
- Creative-Steel transmission and diff mount
- RevShift motor mounts
- Aluminum radiator

Still needs:
- Rear shocks
- A good wash and clean!!

She has about ~105k and burning tires

She was at the Cadillac dealership, they had it for a few days, only to tell me nothing was wrong with it and it started fine for them, they charged me for their whole scan tools and what not, I believe them because it could go a month without a starting issue or do it two days in a row. I used to think it was the starter going bad, and there was a bad spot in it, but like I said the more I thought about it im convinced its the theft system, she hasn't done it since the time the dealership had it, and that was about 3, 4 weeks ago so I don't plan on doing that much with it now, it isn't my main car anymore anyway, I will commute in it to keep it from sitting and because I love it so much, but other than that the whole fam will pile into our SUV most of the time.

So . . . Here is what I got for Xmas!!

5 speed V6 and yes . . . It is black

It supposedly has a lunched motor, and about 145k miles on it. I'm dropping a battery in later this week to see what is what.

If the engine is salad, my options are:

- 4.8 LR4 (LS in my LS)
- LT1 from Roadmonster
- 302
- BMW V8 (3.0L)

I'm leaning towards the LT1 and Saginaw w/ bellhousing that has no scheduled appearence in anything else I have in the driveway.

LT1 all the way!!!!! They were bad ass in those heavy 19ft long monsters, could you imagine the LS with all that torque, now there's a fun car!
