Ok yall been a while since I been on, lovin my LS. Although, On a cold start (way to work) I drive to the end of the street less than a 1/4 mile. Apply the brakes to come to a stop and the lincoln seems to lurch or jump forward a bit. almost like i have my foot on the brake and gas and I then take my foot off the brake. Any Ideas? Like the throttle is stuck. but after that it does the first time it wont do it again till its cold completely. it will still do it even If i let the car sit and warm up... and sometimes I get a harsh shift if i get behind some a**hole who is going to slow so i give it gas to pass and down shifts hard like into 2nd or 3rd.

A, am i looking into a tranny rebuild or swap?
B, faulty sensor?
C, both
D, Do a tranny flush
E, ???

Thanks for the input guys.

Mine does the same when I drive behind slow ass drivers but its not so harsh to where it would freak me out, I accelerate pretty quick so im guessing since I do that and the ******* in front of me isnt moving and I have to brake and the car downshifts while trying to get into a higher gear it would get somewhat of a jerk, jst my thinking could be different for you, what year and mileage is your Ls?

Possibly the solenoid assembly (in the transmission).

I am also interested in this. Mine has done it since I got it, but like him it's only when I come to a stop from a cold start.

I start the car cold, go to the end of the parking lot and it tries to lurch forward right before stopping. Once it does it, it never does it again, even if I stop again immediately.

I have a thing about letting a car warm up before I go and I usually let it sit until the temp guage begins to move. When I do that, it is far less pronounced if it even happens.

I've just written it off to a vehicle just waking up. It more of an annoyance than a problem.

We are sharing the same exact problem. To the "T". Except you were able to word it better. Lol.

My Ls is an 05 with 124k.

Joegr. Correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't they fix the solenoid issues half way through 03? Or am I mistaken? I'll rebuild the whole tranny if I replace a solenoid... could it be the rear diff?

Mine is 2006 with 86k , same color as yours Upstairs Chris , my friend who has a blue 2004 ls says since we got a sporty sedan it shifts harder cause it has a pretty good amount of power , makes sense to me since when I floor it my tires still spin at 35 miles a hour lol

They got better after 04, and the transmission fluid got better after 04 too. This is not to say that every one after that was perfect. I'm sure some bad ones slipped through here and there. However, I am not sure that the symptoms related couldn't be from some other issue. I can say that neither of mine do this (04 and 06), however I did have to replace the solenoid assembly in the 04.

Well im feeling much better that its not just mine... thanks guys! I will def check the solenoid assembly. I doubt theres anything wrong. Thanks Joegr.

Mine has done the same stuff in the past. Maybe once or twice. the last time was early in the morning right after start up. Hit the brake real hard so i wouldnt pull out in the intersection and the computer came up with something like "throttle error" or something like that. idk if its the same problem or not. its a 05' with 125k miles.

Nope, that's a different problem.
