LS V8 Oil filter housing gasket

I have had an oil leak for some time now and decided to tackle the issue. Looked like it was the oil pan gasket and I replaced it making sure to follow torque pattern and specs. Now it looks like I have a leak around the oil filter (pattern on the ground went from oblong to circular). My question: would everyone agree that is the next likely issue? If so, is it as easy of a fix as it looks?

You really need to clean the oil off the engine and see where it first reappears at.
