They should make cars with an ez-break center so if you hit a tree really hard like that, instead of crushing the car and people inside, it just snaps in two halves. Yes your car is totalled but it would have been totalled anyway and at least this way the occupants aren't squished. :shifty:

Lol that would be a funny site to see but then what would you do to stop the two flying halves of the car?

It was t-boned, so the front airbags would have not deployed by design--they only fire in head-on collisions. I don't see any evidence of side-curtain airbags, but it's hard to tell from those pictures.
 
in the 4th pic, the front looks "bent" to me, but aren't airbag switches inertia switches? seems like that would have made a big enough thump to activate.

I think the front was fine, it looks like the bumbper cover was ripped off, that could have happened when the dead carcass was winched it onto the flatbed. :D
 
Looks like my car did after the dealership got there hands on it. Brought it in for a tie rod and they said there was a small problem..... lol

Yeah, makes you realize that no matter how strong a car is or how good the crash ratings are it's still not too hard to kill yourself out there :eek:
 
needs stick on side vents. or at least some imitation buick holes. then it'll go faster than new.
