i have an 01 v6 ls and while in reverse, d5, d4, and sst it feels like its jerking, but in park or nuetral its fine. does anyone know what the problem could be. the transmission was just replaced about 8,000 miles ago. it only jerks while i'm stopped and just sitting there. i dont feel anything while i drive.

i'm pretty sure i just replace the pcv hose and i had half the coils and valve gasket changed. but i never had it shake like it does. i guess it was just never missfiring that hard. i will pull the code later to make sure but most likely im thinking the coil. it stopped shaking and i can just feel it misfire when i drive sometimes.
*thanks for all the advice but after i fix my LS i will be kissing my baby goodbye.

ok it seems there is a misfire in cylinder 4. does any one know the price for a coil through lincoln. autozone sells coil packs fr $50.

replace them all at once. Search ebay for Lincoln LS coils.
Just trust us on this one.

And a reminder..often (But not all the time) the coils go bad due to oil seeping into the plugwells because of leaking valve cover gaskets. If you have all original coils and original valve cover gaskets? I'd suggest doing all at one time, and getting it over with vs having to go back in there later. In other words, replace all coils and the valve cover gaskets all at once and get it over with. Again..trust us on this one.

i checked ebay and all i could find were the coils for the v8, thats why i asked if they were the same. also, does anyone know were i can find the coils and the valve gasket, all i need is one. i had half the engine done once before, but ill probably just do the whole engine again.
