My pride and joy is sitting down the street at the nursing home because it just couldn't quite make it the six blocks to my parents house.
 
Engine light came on a couple weeks ago. Had a shop where I was going to school at scan it and it said left bank number sumthn was running lean. Had a shop back where I'm from look at it and it needed a new fuel filter so no biggie there. Ran fine for a few days when my dad was driving it and engine light came back on. Also sometime when my dad was driving it, the passenger side exhaust tip came off. Not sure how lol. Anyways tonight when i was going to my parents it started to miss and engine light started flashing so i slowed down and went about forty for the rest of the way home. As the closer i got to town the worse it got. Then when i turned onto the street to go to my parents by the nursing home it completely quit. It would not idle for ****. It was like it was saying **** IT I'm done!! lol. Got it pushed into the parking lot at the nursing home and my dad came and picked me up. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I had the coils replaced under the Ford warranty thing. It has around 88,000 on it V8.
 
See if it will start and run with the MAF unplugged.
If not, check fuel pressure.
 
I think I'm just going to leave it. It was going to go back into the shop on tuesday or wednesday anyways. Just sucks that it completely broke down. I almost just felt like venting if anyone wanted to listen lol. Also to hear any thoughts on what might possibly be wrong with it. I appreciate any and all input. Thanks
 
I mite go try that tomorrow if i get time. I'm also in the process of moving back in with my parents. I'm going to school to be a teacher and I'm doing student teaching at nearby town and I can't work enough to support myself while student teaching. I'm also thinking about getting a new car possibly in the next 5 or 6 months depending on my financial situation. What do you guys recommend. I'd love to keep the LS. I get a lot of compliments on it, but ever since I've had it it's been one **** storm after another with it.
 
He said his CEL was flashing only thing that means is misfire(s). Correct?

Yes, but there are more than one possible causes (COPs being the common one) for misfiring. One or two dead (misfiring) cylinders wouldn't be enough to keep the engine from running.
 
just throwing this one out there, but driving it for a bit with a flashing engine light means that there was a pretty bad misfire, and since it was continued to be driven, a lot of fuel could have been dumped right through the cylinder and into the exhaust cause the cat to become completely clogged.

i had a cat completely clog up and it would not let the motor run for more than a few seconds before stalling out the car, if you let it sit for a couple of minutes, it would start right back up, run terribly, then proceed to die again.
 
I hope it isn't coils. Those aren't cheap to fix, but hell who knows what it could be i guess. It could be something small too.
