So, LS has been with my mechanic for a month. All started when the car would not turn over. Diagnosis was the plugs (at first).
1. Replace all plugs, coils, VCG with OEM.
Mechanic noted that there was no compression in some cylinders or not 100%
2. Replace timing chain, timing guide, arms, crankshaft gear, tensioner arms, gaskets, and belt - took a while for parts to arrive as most are on back order.
3. While at it, decided to replace o2 sensors and catalytic sensors.
4. Replace 1 bad valve.
Still won't start. Diagnostic believes to be bad ECU.
5. Replace ECU and reprogram.
Does it make sense that a bad ECU has caused the timing to be f'd up. What causes an ECU to go bad. The codes that came up after all the Coils, etc replaced was that a circuit went bad in the ECU.
Just trying to figure out why ECU went bad and would effect everything.
And I thought it was just the coils and plugs....
