LS died on me last night.

Not sure what the cause is. I was getting onto the HWY and going about 60ish on the on ramp and went to accelerate and it didn't go. I coasted to the side of the HWY and the RPMs dropped to zero and the car died. I went to go start the car and it started up like normal but once the RPMs hit about 2grand they immediately dropped back down to zero again and the motor dies. Everything else works perfectly on the car. Ended up having it towed to the dealership.

Any one else have a problem similar? this is the first time i have had a major problem with the car.

I guess it is possible. Its just weird because I have literally had no problems with the car other than the normal COP stuff. I hope its as simple as that.

There would probably have been symptoms before it got this bad. A sudden bug or clump of dirt on the MAF is a good theory. There are other possibilities too.

Bugs wing in the MAF sensor! I was sooooo glad when I got that call! The LS is back and running perfect again.

Another member had the same symptoms as you a while back, which turned out to be an insect wing on MAF (Joe was first to suggest it). Live and learn

Must be a seriously high flow air filter if it flows bugs as well! lol

Isn't there a screen between the filter and the rest of the intake? I may be thinking of another vehicle.
