Was curious on any thoughts about lowering a 90 lincoln town car.
Not too much, more than an inch but less than 2 inches,
using stock wheels.

The rear is airbag/coil and the front is coil spring.
Can the springs be heat dropped?

Anyone do this ?

Thanks!

TP

I would just cut the fronts until you like the stance and then adjust the rear air ride to match. One thing to watch out for is that sometimes when you change the ride height of the air ride the bags can bevelop leaks from being at a new position.

DON'T heat the springs to drop it. That alters the spring rate uncontrollably and can have dangerous results.

If your car is still using it's factory configuration your rear suspension is actually just airsprings, no coils, to support the vehicle's weight. Traditional gas-pressurized shock absorbers are also used.
On my webpage I have some info on the RAS system for 90+ panthers.

You can cut the stock front coils down from the open end. 1 full coil would probably put the height right where you want it. Spring removal is a bit of a pain and you will need a GOOD quality compressor.
Better route would be custom made springs. I had a set made for my platform-sibling Grand Marquis exactly to my specs.

For the rear, definitely just adjust the rear height sensor to lower it like KK said. Easy, and free! :D
