Okay so Quik definitely knows and some others of the problems that I have been having lately. Well now its down to a scan that shows Bank 1 Lean, Bank 2 rich and cylinders 1,2,3,5,7,8 misfiring.

What could be the problem because yesterday it was cylinder 1,3,5,7,4?

HELP!!!

very strange. trying to think through this. the misfires are "probably" due to a/f mixture being shot. no coil packs...cops and it'd be pretty rare that all those went bad at once. So since you're having problems in both banks logic would tell us it's a problem with a single component that applies to both banks (effective ruling out o2 sensors or fuel rails). I'd start with MAF sensor or possibly a fuel delivery (pump, pressure, regulator, etc.) problem.

Thinking out loud.

I changed the MAF and the fuel pressure regulator and the head temp sensor so Im lost. I just ordered teh service repair cd that the dealer puts together from their publishing company so hopefully they'll have an idea.

why don't you take it in instead of just replacing everything? In fact it "could" be a failing ecm.

To tell you the truth i had ford diagnose it and they gave me codes and thats about it. They didn't want to say anything but they need another 8 hours to diagnose at the price of $105 an hour and that I was not doing. Its actually cheaper for me to replace the parts.

I also ordered the full service repair manual on cd from helm and that comes with wiring diagrams and everything, so with that and all of you guys' help I'll be fine.

Now what is the ecm?

ecm, pcm, powertrain control moduel and i dont no if you looked for a vacuum leak but that mite help like a gasket or hose or somthing like that

Had similar problem some time ago...had to limp it home. It was throttle position sensor (TPS). Pulled the Throttle Body off and replaced it - all was well again.

Don't know if this will help at all, but I my 02 LS had a nasty misfire that was random. Here after driving through a huge rain storm, water collected in the holes where the coil packs are and started sorting out the spark plugs. The tech told me the seal around them was leaking slightly and that let in water. Not a big deal really, he just sucked out all the water, dried everything real good and re-sealed up the parts with new silicone. Car has been fine since.

Ok first things first, thanks to all you guys that are posting suggestions because you all have been phenominal. I ordered the cd as I said and the cd said I should check the injectors and if they're good, then check the pcm so my next round of testing will involve both. I hope this would be the end of that problem.

Once that is over I can get to changing my timing chains and tensioners.
