I lost:eek: my keys including my 97 mark viii key it is a copy, not the original. my question is, if anyone finds it they could take off with my car, now can the car be change to use a diffrent code for a newer key or i have to live with it knowing that there is a key out there that fit my car, since thers not many Mark where i live.

i know that i could make another copy with a newer blank from my original on the car, but knowing that theres a lost copy i'am screwd.

i'am assuming it is not possible to change the entire code to start or enter car, unless the computer is changed. i'am i correct? :(

only if you dont get another set of keys programmed. you will need 2 keys cut and programmed at the dealer (need 2 to complete the programing sequence) and the missing key will still open everything but it wont start it, reprogramming it erases all the other keycodes.

^ he is right.

Whenever I buy a new ford I always have my pats keys reprogrammed just in case the previous owner tries to steal it back.

Yepper... reprogramming will blank the lost key out...

BTW you can buy 1 key and program it yourself... like this...

Get it cut
Insert it to run, the antitheft light will blink for 15minutes, when it goes out turn the key off and then back on within one second
Repeat that procedure THREE full times
The new key will be programmed and will have erased all other keys...

Found keys, well they are not keys anymore.

The keys i found today in 50 pieces,:shifty: well close didn't really count. I was working with a tree chipper when i lost it, and after spending many hours back tracking the places i was last, the mistery finally ended.
it was in the belly of the wood chipper in many pieces.

i was working with a chipper a tree branch, well many i was chipping must had grab on the my keys on my belt and took the keys with it chipping the branches and keys with it. it is so loud that i couldn't hear the sound of keys or for that matter feel them leaving me since the branches and logs where feeling me all over while i push them in the chipper, thank god i didn't had the original key on the key ring:D

Thanks so much for your help guys!!

I feel so much better that no one has them:p
