Loose Steering

Just bought a 2000 LS V8 with about 110K on it, My issue amoung others is that the steering wheel when cruzing moves side to side with about and 1inch or so of play, once past this point of play you can then turn the wheel. If any one has any knowledge on this or where i should start that would be great.

as I said in Darkshadow's thread...

Check the bushings on the steering rack mount... and the set screw on the intermediate steering shaft. Both have resulted in either a soft steering feel, or a large dead zone on center.
