My LS will probably stay stock as long as I have the Mark. See you @ E-town when the weather warms up.

The Gen2 LS was advertised to do 0-60 in 6.3 sec.

The LS has a good short game with its 5speed auto, the MarkVIII has longer legs basically.


In a 1/4mile race I've said it dozens of times now.


Gen1 LS vs. Gen2 VIII....is close

Gen2 LS vs. Gen1 VIII....is close.

Close enough to be drivers races.

Mix it up and there will be sure winners.


In a 0-60 run I think even the Gen1 LS will give the Gen1 VIII a run and Gen2 LSes have the biggest advantage. Gen2 VIIIs the slowest.

Those numbers are good for general reference but there have been more then a few Mark VIIIs the broke into the 14s bone stock. And the Gen2(03+) LSs can break 14s stock with a good driver

I was about to say... the 03+ LS's can beat most all of those times

Rich, did you have 100% stock exhaust on your gen 2 Mark VIII?

Yes. Still do. The car has a head gasket issue that I plan to get fixed and maybe add a mod or two while I'm there and then the exhaust is next. I got two quotes for mandrel from the cats back cheaper one was $1200. Gonna talk to a member on here that does ehaust and is in driving distance and see what he can do.

does it really matter that much? my buddies 03 subaru legacy gt can beat my mark... but i still laugh at him cause he spent 30 grand and i spent 3 If your mad that an ls can beat you, make your car faster! we have lots of options!
