Looking for a bike

I know a couple people who have started out riding on shadows.... No complaints from them.

Good, solid, Honda. It's a really good cruiser.

However, with all that said, and based on personal experience, don't limit yourself to JUST cruisers. You can get much more bike, meaning performance, utility, comfort, and technology, for less/same money if you consider standard, sport, and touring bikes.

Ace

I have the exact bike- '96 VT1100, Vance and Hines longshots-sounds great, stage two jet kit, custom air cleaner-Hypercharger, lots of chrome, $1800 custom paint, custom lowered seat, Honda backrest and rack, 19K miles.
Super smooth cruiser- very torquey, only drawbacks are it starts to run out of breath over about 115mph. Course I mostly putt the back roads though so that really doesn't matter.
Shaft drive is awesome, lots of aftermarket chrome available reasonable on e-bay and others, sits nice and low, forward controls are good, riding position is good. Liquid cooling is nice. Good brakes.
Does that one have the removable Memphis shades windshield with it? Mine does and it makes a lot of difference in fatigue after a long ride. Mine also has leather saddlebags that mount on hard points of the fender support.
Getting ready to swap out ugly ass turn signals for compact chrome LEDs.
I don't like the blacked out engine on mine- wish the jugs were aluminum and the cases were polished- maybe in future I can find a polished big bore kit for it.
I dropped this bike putting it in my truck when it belonged to my girlfriend, so I had it painted and when she bought a Harley, I bought it from her with the custom paint for $3K. Bluebook on 'em ranges from $900 to $5K depending on the bike.
I'm also looking for a set of gauges to replace the factory speedo with speedo, tach, oil pressure, and temp gauge cluster.
Drop me a line by phone if you want to discuss further- 816-518-5525.

Thanks for the replies fellas! I am pretty sure this is the bike I want, the fury is freakin awesome, but i need saddle bags to carry stuff for work. This will be my DD.

I dont see going any where near 115 so I should be good. I had a 98 750 ACE I put 30K+ miles on and never had a problem, accept for monkey butt. I think the only thing I would need to add to this one is the windshield, its a must have for me.

Only bad thing is this all depends on the sale of my 1982 GMC Jimmy. Gotta sell it first. Gonna ask 5k for it so it should sell pretty fast but I got a fealing this bike will be gone by the time I have the cash in hand.

That's a nice looking one, if it sells I've seen lots of shadow's for sale. You usually can't go wrong with a Honda. I've had my Gold Wing almost 17 years and it's never let me down.

If your dead set on a metric bike, I have always wanted a Shadow spirit 750dc, they make awesome bobbers.

I have a lot of friends with harley's, we spend a lot of time fixing them. I have had 3 bikes, all honda's, and nothing but regular maintenance. So yeah I am pretty much sticking with what works for me. Not hating on harley's, just stay with whats I've had success with. Plus I need to stick to my <$5K range.

The 750 is a little on the small side for me. Need some more grunt for the 2 up rides through the mountains around here.

Thanks for all the comments, keep em coming!
