I have been on this site for awhile, but havent posted in forever. Kind of shocked my account is still active. I have been lurking again the past few months since I am looking for a daily driver while I build my mustang. I have always loved the marks and I have had two t-birds. My last one was a 95 with a 4.6 and tons of mods. Still miss her almost a year later. It never left me stranded, was comfy on long drives, and everything about the car I enjoyed. The marks are the same way, and have a few more things I wish the birds could of had. I want a car that I am not going to hate driving (like an econo box), gets decent mileage and is comfortable....my stang sucks on long drives, but thats just from not so great mileage and cheap factory seats.
I found a 93 Mark not too far away and I havent checked it out yet, but I did call abd spoke to the owner. It has 138k miles, mint interior, decent exterior (was told minor dings and some fading), good air suspension and all electronics work. Car just got new struts around, and the trans was rebuilt 6 years ago. The only concerns I have is that he said the car will shift hard into second, but if you know when it is going to shift and you let off, it shifts smooth. Also it leaks a little oil if it sits for a few days. Car was drivin daily, but now doesnt after the owner bought another Mark. Also has a fresh e-test.
The trans is the only main thing that worries me since I will be putting my stang in storage due to lack of room until I get my new engine and trans ready to drop in. So I dont want to see this car, like it, buy it, and then have the trans :q:q:q:q on me a week later. Is this the accumulator, or old fluid? Dont really have the time, nore money to have to replace a trans right away. I would take it to Ford right away and have them do a full trans service (flush, and filter). I can get this car for a pretty good price since they are not exactly popular around these areas.
