Thanks guys. I am goinbg to swap the radio from the red one to see if it's the culprit. If it is though I will need one that is all nice and minty. The red one is a little fugly. But will make a good test subject.

Thanks for the offer Notorious, but it has to be a stock head unit it's for the chamelion and it turned out to be the factory amp afterall. I hope you got all your issues worked out with the stereo stuuf.
