Brought the 95 back to get it fixed, and they were out of loaners. I was expecting a VW with wore out tires. They did the right thing and rented a car. Not bad. Hope the repair goes as well.

Those 2013s are sweet, V6 stangs ain't my thing but those things are pretty quick. I want a 2013 5.0 or a 2009 GT

Those Stangs got serious. The V6 performs just as well as the previous 4.6 V8s in the GTs. Over 300hp.

305hp from the 3.7L Duratec V-6. That's the same hp output as the future ex-wife's '96 Cobra 4.6L DOHC V-8:eek: Torque is a different story though. The Druatec makes about 275 ft/lbs (I think) while the Cobra's 4.6 makes 300 ft/lbs.

Touchy subject for me. It drives me up the wall knowing Ford's new V6 can leave us in the dust.

That's not even the strong one. The 3.5l Ecoboost makes 365 hp and 420 ft/lb in the F150 and the crate motor, would sit way back in the Mark VIII's engine compartment.

Buddy has an Ecoboost F-150 and ran 14.8 at the track this last year. I saw a guy with a tune, cai, and removed tailgate run a 14.1 back in 2011. Remember when V8 Stangs were running 14s? :D

^Lol. 2013 5.0s run low to mid 12s bone stock. Get some DR's, tune, cai and you got a high 11 second car lmao

They sure do. I was referring to pre-coyote V8s. Particularly the SN95 cars like you have and the 2-valve 4.6 GTs from around 99-04. Most of them were hard pressed to get out of the 14s bone stock. The 3-valves came along and found 13s fairly easily. Now we have an NA 5.0 out there running as good and better times than the 03/04 Cobras that were boosted. Crazy stuff. The fastest all motor coyote ran 10s with no power adders.

I hear all of this you guys, and the new Stangs are smokin' hot. BUT, I can look out my window and count a Mustang every three minutes. Yes, fast is intoxicating, but my car gives me goose bumps every time I just look at it. Mark VIIIs are luxury, our interiors ROCK and our engine bays are SO much nicer stock. One would expect newer cars to perform better, it's almost 2013 for heaven's sake! Don't be bummed about owning something so gorgeous and way ahead of its time. Give it a moment, it'll be a classic.

P.S. My car really wants to do that car V V V V :shifty: :D :hump:

small

Being 6' tall it's not my kind of car. Once it it, was ok. I nicknamed it "little black coffin" I'd rather be in one of my MK's. The dealer stepped up and gave me a car to use. Hope they fix the leaks right. I don't know how much my 1 year old driveway can take.

That is such a beautiful car! How do you get your camera to take pictures like that? It makes the car look almost like a model sitting against a real-life backdrop. The style is called "miniature faking" or "diorama effect". It's really cool:)

Ha ha, Thaywood! It's not my car or my camera. This is "JOWDROP A" and I horked that picture from Lincoln Car Clubb on Facebook and then Photoshopped it. The cool effect that you like so much is created using the field blur tool. I agree with you, it really draws the object into the foreground and gives almost a 3D illusion. You have to outline the car from the background and then select the inverse and scale the field blur tool depending on resolution and strength of desired effect. Ya, Photoshop RAWKS!

There's true meaning to his license plate. That Mark8 has well over 500rwhp. He won't tell me how much exactly but it's even faster than Mike Schultz' car. The idle is heavenly. Bye bye C6.
