LMS chip ?

Plug and play. 10 minutes maybe? Just pull out ECU, clean contacts and plug back in. I think the harness for the ECU is held in my an 8mm bolt but the ECU itself is just held in place by a black clip.

I'm getting one rather soon - I'll report on my findings once I get it installed.

Why would you not recommend it for an OBD II car?I have been thinking about getting it for my 98.

With OBD II you can get something a lot better. You can get a tuner and adjust many things yourself.

When I get the money I'm looking into the sniper tunning. LMS sells it, looks like a good deal. You can tune two cars for the price of one and you make your own tunes and you can as many tunes as you want.

My 93 has a slight hessitation going into 4th with OD on, and back to third is noticeable also. It has the 1-2 update with Merc 5.
Wondering if the chip would help that, or its an eternal issue.
I usually turn the OD off until a certain speed then use as needed.

I got my chip yesterday - I haven't installed it yet. I picked up some Jaguar 18s with nearly new tires yesterday for $240 - sadly they don't fit quite right so I need some spacers. 275/35 rear - 245/40 front...

I'm going to be putting the chip in tonight or tomorrow and will have some impressions after the weekend.

would love to see pics with the Jaguar wheels

I have the chip. My mpg hasn't changed, if anything it dropped. I do need new 02 sensors though and a new fuel pump is in the works\

Performance wise it's not bad at all, those shifts are hard!

^ probably a good idea to change your O2 sensors... that's probably why your MPG decreased with the chip.

Yeah I just need to save some dough for my exhaust, I'm figuring that if a shop is gonna be doing an exhaust they can do my 02's and save me the time.

I was fallowing jag wheels for a long time but never saw the right ones for a good price. and never did I see ones for $240 thats just wow

Gotta love craigslist! I figured for 240 I can resell them if they didn't work.

I can take a pic tonight with them on - at least one side. The fronts are right up against the control arm, and the rears are pretty damn close to the sway bar end link - hence the need for spacers.

With spacer make sure you torque to the exact spec and check OFTEN. Spacers act as a wash and all too often result in wheels falling off :(

Well I just ordered the LMS chip, can't wait for it to get here!

And since 02's were mentioned, man they suck. In the hardest spots to get too, I changed the drivers side one somehow and didn't know where to start with the passenger side lol.

love the chip !!... havent had a single problem with it....

as for mpg's dropping with the lms chip... it probably has something to do with heavy feet

my average went up... then i got the exhaust... then i noticed i couldnt take my foot off of the gas !! haha

Got my chip in and I've only driven it a few miles. Shifting is improved, but not a whole lot. I still need to update the 1-2 and 2-3 pistons, and jmod my trans.

As far as performance goes it seems like it accelerates better, and the engine runs a bit smoother overall.

Again, these are first impressions. I need to drive it more to really get a good feel for it.
