Over the last yr the issues I have had make me chuckle and frustrated at the same time

I have learned over the years to have them do a walk about to ensure I get the car back in the same condition as I got it back .So far every dealer but 1 has damaged it and had to pay and since then I have been told not to bring it back for service as a result ....can you believe that .... 2 damaged bumpers ,1 broken airbox ( the mechanic tried to remove the top cover w/o unbolting it from the T/b and broke 3 of the tabs ) ,1 loose oil filter and dumped most of the oil ,1 broken glove box ( they replaced it ) and more

My most recent venture has been a pain in the as for over a year . I have a a severe shutter at 75 mph coming from the front ( gets worse the faster you go )and the dealer had me drive it with a shop foreman riding in the passenger seat and admits yes there is a problem but both the dealer and Lincoln say they will not repair the issue because its over the speed limit ??? I was was like "huh ? " I called customer service and yes they will not repair the problem because its over the speed limit ,lol .So now I'm stuck with a car that you don't want to go over 70 because of this issue .Have you ever heard of something as stupid as that ?

My warranty ended 2 weeks ago and I'm on the hook to repair the problem .I told customer service I would repair it outside of Lincoln and then present my case in court so they should expect a "summons to appear" in court and Lincoln customer service was somewhat offend I would do this and gave my their legal dept address and promptly hung up.,...so its off to court I go and it appears to be a wheel bearing going out

I had another issue with detenation and 1 dealer told me they were going to have to tear down the engine and I could be on for it ,another said it was normal for Lincoln's & fords to ping had on acceleration ( this went on for over a year ) and then finally the last dealer said no problem and then ust put a update in the ecm and bingo no pinging ...........what a joke

I also loved this one ......my factory chrome wheels have corrosion on the inside and are peeling and Lincoln said they only cover the outside face of the chrome finish ,not the inside .......I was like what ????? LoL .

I have so many stories .........to be honest this is my second and last " LS " .I have had coil problems ,climate control problems ,the typical first generation issues do apply to the second gen ,don't be fooled !

Going on 60K w/ my 05', never had a SES light or anything and I beat the piss outta it sometimes

Wait, Ford said they will repair the outside of the wheel but not the inside?

I have the same problem with my chrome rims and the chrome inside the wheel is peeling real bad. in fact, I wire brushed the inside when I saw this and attempted to seal it with a high temp clear sealant (seems to work ok) However (this will be tough to explain) on the outside of the wheel, where the arms/spoke meet the outter part of the wheel, the "pits" have some corrosion. One wheel is especially bad and the nearly all the "pits" have corrosion - it was like this when I bought the car and just assumed it was the way it is cuz I heard that these wheels are notorious for poor chrome plating.

I know I've had it to a dealer for balancing and such, and they have never said anything...

It seems Ford is very selective as to what they will war. with this car. Mine was delivered with the chrome wheels after waiting aprox 8 weeks with an add. cost of $900. I dont think I will ever buy another new car after my poor exp. dealing with FLM. I had a very poor buying and warnt. exp. with the dealer and will never buy another new car again. Let somebody else eat the 50 0/0 dep. after 3 years, these cars drop like rocks. I think my dealings with this FLM dealer borders on fraud and will never darken their door again.
P.S. I had so many warning signs on this deal that I should have bailled but I didnt. How would you like to have your brand new Ls delivered at night in front of the showroom Filthy dirty ,empty tank and a big scratch acoross the door. I looked at the :q:q:q:q:q:q:q salesman and said " I waited 2 months for this?
WoW the stories I could tell about the largest Linc dealer on Rt1+9 in Woodbride NJ staty away at all costs

I have owned nothing but Fords, Lincolns and Mercurys. With the exception of my last family NEW vehicle purchase for my wife... a fully loaded '08 Honda Odyssey. I have had shady sales tactics at various dealerships but realized salesman are snakes and trying to make as much cash off a deal as they can. Dealerships don't truly represent a manufacturer - but sadly they are the face we see when we have an issue. As far as their service departments... they can run the gamut with levels of quality and the way you can be treated. Expect the worse... this way you are not disappointed. My experience is... you remain professional, they will remain professional. If you are not happy with the way you are being treated, call them on it. Tell them to their face that it's their responsibility to insure you that your vehicle is in proper working order and you are a please customer.

I finally found a dealership I trust. But to save cash, I also have a mechanic who is FORD certified to work on my vehicles when repairs are beyond my knowledge. I suggest you guys do the same. Take a deep breath and look elsewhere. If you have a warranty and can find a certified mechanic which doesn't have the huge over head of these big dealerships you will save a ton of money. For example, my wife drove a FORD Windstar SEL Limited before we traded it on the Honda. Our transmission went out right after our warranty expired (a little over 200 miles past warranty). Talking to my mechanic, he said FORD will not stand behind this for this very reason... we should have purchased an extended warranty before the original one ran out. Even then FORD would still dance around it and try and find a way to avoid covering the trany. But my mechanic (love this guy) gets on the phone with FORD and tells them our warranty is still valid giving them a milage number under the cut off number. FORD covered the cost of the new trany and all we had to pay was the deductible. I have several stories such as this... Just take my advise and find a guy who you can trust to do your warranty work. A mechanic who wants your business and doesn't have to pay for the girl answering the phones, the guy washing the cars on the lot, the salesman's coffee, the shuttle service which takes you home, the guy who writes up the work order, the other guy who drives the car around to the guys in the back who actually look at your car, the guy who sweeps the floors and the list goes on and on. This is why dealerships charge you an arm and a leg.

Build a honest relationship with a guy you can trust... believe me, it is so worth every dime and all your piece of mind.

I have had issues with the stealership that I bought mine from as well. Every time it went in for something it came back out with a new problem. Fortunatly, they never argued or denied that their mechanics (hah!) had caused the problem. Just make another appointment and leave it for the day.
After the few problems that I had and the subsequent damage they caused were all fixed, I've been trouble free for two years!!!
