Lincoln vs RX-8

Well today was a good day for the old LS. I have a 2003 LS V8 Sport with K&N CAI. Came up on a red light and a Mazda RX8 pulls up next to me. He revs and I look over and smiled. I do not know what mods he had, maybe stock, but I know he had exhaust on it. Well the light turned green and off we went to the next light which was about 1/8th of a mile down. The Lincoln took him by a car length. The next light was red and he wanted to go again. He roled down the window and said he missed a gear. Well we did it again and the Lincoln got him by a half a length. Just thought you boys would like to here a little good news.

FD3s had a bad 3rd gear synchro the first few years, no excuses that I know about the RX8 besides they just suck. Regardless you are lucky it wasn't one in the pics that Galanga showed. That thig would have been at the next light before you hit the gas ( slight exaggeration ).

That is funny by the way kinda true but those cars must have respect. They are bad ass ( RX7's not RX8"s) a 1.3l that does 0-60 in some where around 4 secs maybe a bit less is bad ass. The only problem is the maintenance a rotary requires. They are very underated cars!

if u listen real closely on the FD3s or any of them they sound like angry weed whackers lol coolest thing ever i like em (not rx8) their to heavy and ugly.

My buddy has one. It sounds nothing like a weed wacker, it sounds more like a Tie Fighter from Star Wars zooming by or like some kind of sick fighter jet.

He also has everything Racing Beat has to offer on it. I guess thats why it sound so, so good.

When he first got his down tube and exhaust set up on he swore it was his wheels spinning but it was just the howling sound the thing made as it tacked up, then whooooooosh went the BOV. A nice kind of sound for a BOV not just a squeak, chirp or common tish but a long slow smooth whooooooosh.

it was probably the HKS ssqv. those things are amazing.


but rx7 are known for the weed whacker sound depending on the exhaust

but there good track cars and drift cars

With the tack up and bouncing around it can sound like that I guess.
